Thirty-five years ago, an Elder of the Yuin Nation visited me. At the time, I was living immersed in nature, with ancestral memory, knowledge, and wisdom flowing freely. It was unexpected, overwhelming, and impossible to integrate within a Western mind. Guboo Ted listened to my dilemma and shared his understanding of what was going on. Then, after the telling of cultural stories about this, he said something that was a catalyst for profound change: “If you are to receive from Mother Earth in this way, you have an obligation to give back”. Without further explanation, Guboo Ted left, and I did not see or hear from him again.

Soon after making that commitment, I was pulled into a life path of disruption, discovery, and learning by the unseen, yet powerfully felt hands of whatever it was at work. After all these years, prepared by intense life experiences, having survived the fires of Transformation, and with joy in my heart, I am ready to share what I have learned. This is my giving back.
Transformational Change: Its Not Complicated

Everything we know in the natural world is brought into existence and provided for via powerful co-creative processes within the Earth. Consequently, our individual and collective well-being is dependent upon the well-being of ‘Mother Earth’ and good relationship with our extended nature family.
This simple but essential truth, and the Indigenous wisdom built upon it over many thousands of years, was pushed aside by colonisation, trivialised by the rise of classical science and lost for many in the mists of time. Since this “great forgetting”, there is a history of invasion, violence, destruction, and trauma, from which has emerged a cataclysmic destiny that many fear is imminent.
If, however, you dare release the colonised mind and reconnect with natural wisdom, an interconnected world view and a very powerful story awaits us. A story about how this violent way came into being, and why the integration of ‘New Science’ with Indigenous Wisdom generates Transformational pathways to safety and a values informed future of meaningful relationships and belonging.
“Sitting in circle with a bunch of people all attempting to act from an open-hearted discipline – challenging my own tendency to judge, half listen and manufacture opinion – led to some quite miraculous breakthroughs of understanding within myself and the circle. I have taken some of the tools learned from John’s 3-day Transformational Circle Training and introduced them to a working group I am part of. The idea of structuring into our meetings a more conscious way of communicating has already generated interesting changes…I love that I can take what I learnt in this training session and make real changes in my life.“
